Frances Elizabeth Stone

Frances Elizabeth Stone, 95, of Texarkana, AR passed away August 11, 2014 at her home. Mrs. Stone was born February 6, 1919 in Waldo, AR. She was a third generation member of Highland Park Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school classes and was involved with the Womens' Missionary Union. She was a member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James M. Stone; and her parents, Bessie and Julius Hatchett; her brother, Dr. Harold Hatchett; and her sister, Myldred Newsom.

Survivors include her daughter, Jena Stone Howell of Texarkana; and her daughter and son-in-law, Cecelia Stone and Alver J. Dunbar of Fairview, TX; sister, Alice Quillin; special cousin, Mary Jo Cook Essex; 5 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday, August 15, 2014 at Highland Park Baptist Church with Rev. Kevin Myers officiating. Burial will be 3 p.m. Friday in Stephens Cemetery, Stephens, AR under the direction of East Funeral Home - Downtown.

Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, August 14, 2014 at East Funeral Home - Downtown.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Highland Park Baptist Church, 2401 Hazel St., Texarkana, TX. The family would also like to thank the many caregivers and Dierksen Hospice.
