David Wayne Bell, 59, of Hooks, Texas passed away April 21, 2020 at his home. Mr. Bell was born July 29, 1960 in Independence, Iowa. Survivors include his mother, Anita Thomas of Little Rock, Arkansas; his sons, David Bell and Nathan Bell both of Hot Springs, Arkansas; his daughter, Susan Jones of Longview, Texas; his sister and brother-in-law Darla and David Myers of Little Rock, Arkansas; his grandchildren Nicholas Propst, Riley Jones, Lillian Jones, Madison Bell, Hunter Bell, and Parker Horne; his niece Lexi Langston; his nephews Dayton Myers and Charlie Brannum; and his life-long friend Donald Jones and wife Joy Jones and their daughters Samantha Jones and Tory Jones.
David was a proficient carpenter who enjoyed working with his hands. An outdoorsman at heart, he loved spending time in the woods. He had a natural fondness for hunting and fishing, which he passed along to his children. David also enjoyed boating. He spent many weekends on the lakes of Arkansas with his grandchildren, who affectionately called him Paw-Paw, letting them believe they were driving his boat.
David found joy in life’s simple pleasures. Happiness came from a campfire and good company. He was strong willed, stubborn at times, but he always stood by his convictions. David showed unwavering loyalty to anyone fortunate enough to call him friend. David will be dearly missed by his loved ones, but his memory will stay with us through stories shared around campfires.
