Dawn McMurphy passed away November 11, 2018, at home in Charlotte NC. Dawn was born January 18, 1962 in Texarkana. Dawn was a wonderful daughter and lived by the Golden Rule. She was generous to family and friends. She grew up in Wake Village, attended TISD schools and then graduated magna vim laude from the University of Texas, Austin with a degree in Management/Accounting. She obtained her CAP certification and accepted a position with Neiman-Marcus Corporate Office where she worked almost twenty years before her health began to deteriorate and forced her retirement. She married in 1993 and in 2002 adopted an eight-month old Angel from China, named her Paige Yin Chen. She is now a beautiful sixteen year old Angel and the delight of all her family, especially her Mother. Dawn devoted most of her time to Paige, but she became active in the campaign to abolish Family Court in NC.
Memorial services will honor Dawn on Friday ,November 30, 2018 at 2 o'clock at the First Biker Church at 1116 Walnut Street, Texarkana, with Rev. Johnny Rounsavall officiating.
Dawn's passing followed 5 days after the passing of her sister, Cheryl Parker Northcutt. Those left to cherish many precious memories are her daughter, Paige Bernson; her Mother, Carolyn Hanson; her Father, Jarome McMurphy and his wife Charlie; two nephews, Nick Parker and Jordan Parker; aunts Kay Rochelle and Rosemary McMurphy; a special uncle Boyce McMurphy; two special friends Cindy Natale, Shreveport, and Michael.Parker, Redwater and many other family and friends. She was also preceded in passing of her sister, Cheryl Northcutt; Grandparents Grammie (Hazell Hunter) and Poppa (W.A. Walraven) and Myrtle and George McMurphy; and her special niece, Shea Nicole Rochelle.
Dawn will be missed beyond words until we gather in Heaven.
