Betty Catherine Walker

Sister Betty Catherine Walker was born June 9th, 1947 in Texarkana, Arkansas to the parentage of the late Arthur and Ella Hervey. She was the second of 2 childrens. Mrs. Walker departed this life Thursday, January 26th, 2023.

She was united in matrimony to the late Norman Walker and two children followed in this union.

She loved the Lord and instilled this love into her children. Betty was a devoted homemaker during her lifetime and also did home child care for many years and was a ham radio operator. Her most important job was raising her children and many others that was entrusted in her care.

Betty accepted the Lord at an early age. She was a faithful member at various churches until one day she was guided by the Holy Spirit to join the Hickory Street Baptist Church and continue her christian journey until the Lord saw fit to call her to her heavenly home.

Betty was preceded in death by her mother and father Arthur Hervey and Ella Alexander, one sister Arthur Jean Harris, her son Claiborne Walker and her husband Norman Walker.

She is survived by her daughter Katriana Walker Baker, special friend and care giver Liz Preston, special niece Gail Williams and a host of nieces and nephews that will miss her dearly.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., Friday , February 10th, 2023 at East Funeral Home-Downtown.

Services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 11th, 2023 at Hickory Street Baptist Church, 2923 Hickory Street, Texarkana, Arkansas with Rev. Tim Strebeck officiating

Burial will be in Memorial Gardens under the direction of East Funeral Home - Downtown.
