Patricia Jane Kirk

Pat was born in Burnside Township, Clearfield County, Pennsylvania. She is the daughter of Francis Alvin Pierce and Della Marie Judson. She is one of 14 children.

She graduated Wellsboro Charleston Senior High School in Wellsboro, Pennsylvania and then moved to her childhood dream of living in Florida to attend Florida Technical College studying IBM Keypunch and Bookkeeping. She later worked for Wackenhut Security for NASA at the Kennedy Space Center in Orlando, Florida responsible for the security clearance badges for the Gemini-5 Flight mission and the Apollo 8 - Apollo 15 missions. After adopting her five children, she devoted her time to raising them and was a stay-at-home mom.

She was a member of First Baptist Church, Forney. She enjoyed puzzles and card games with her friends and especially enjoyed her friendships and activities at the Forney Senior Center. She also enjoyed spending time with family, especially seeing her grandbabies.

Pat came to know the Lord on July 4, 1970. While she was not raised in church, she was surrounded by people who had a great Christian influence in her life. She in turn wished to share the love of Christ she received to those around her. Her life verse was Isaiah 41:10- Fear thou not; for I am with thee: Be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. Pat was always involved with church ministries including Sunday school teacher, Children’s Church and Bible School volunteer as well as a Radio Ministry, run by her and her late husband in Jewett, Texas.

Pat is preceded in death by her husband John Wayne Kirk; parents: Francis and Della Pierce; siblings: Art, Bud, Leda, Rose, Donna, Bill, Jimmy, Minnie, Andy, Dale, and Debbie.

She is survived by her five adopted children and their spouses, Mike and Kami Kirk of Newark, California; Tonja and Scott Williams of Forney, Texas; Marlene and Bob Eitelman of San Diego, California; Machelle and Kevin Lee of Dover, Arkansas; and John and Jessie Kirk of Hermiston, Oregon. Her grandchildren include Marranie and Jon McBride of Forney, Texas; Justin and Caitlin Kirk of Mesa, Arizona; Derek Kirk of Mesa, Arizona; Becky Eitelman of San Diego, California; Josh Delcomyn of Dover, Arkansas; Hannah and Markus DeLeon of Ellington, Connecticut; Tim and Anna Delcomyn of Fort Smith, Arkansas; Liz and Travis Walker of Dover, Arkansas; Adrian Bernal of Rosenburg, Texas; Jennifer Delcomyn of Roland, Oklahoma; Becca Moore of Centralia, Washington; Esther and Justin Hicks of Combs, Arkansas; Sydne and Ty Rollins of La Porte, Texas; Jessica Kirk of Fox Island, Washington and Britney Kirk of Hermiston, Oregon. Great Grandchildren are Bennett McBride, Alaithia Hicks, Ava Coats, Coen Morgan, Silas Delcomyn, Jenna Moore and 3 more great grandbabies due this year. She is also survived by a brother and sister: Jerry Pierce and Marian Deutcher of Pennsylvania as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

The Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on May 1, 2021 in the Chapel of First Baptist Church, 1003 College Avenue, Forney, Texas 75126 with interment at the Hillcrest Cemetery. The visitation will be held prior to the service at 1:00 p.m.
