They went on to pastor in Avon, N.C. and then to the Assemblies Headquarters in Dunn, N.C. where Burl was the State Youth Director. He was instrumental in building Camp Maranatha, a youth camp. He started from scratch, having to clear the property, create the roads, put up the buildings and develop the entire infrastructure.
After returning to Texas, Burl became the headmaster at Rowlett Christian Academy.
Burl was quick with a smile and always willing to help wherever he was needed. He was someone who loved to fix things and seemed to always have something to work on, whether it was a tractor or a car. He left a lasting impression from the first introduction and you knew when you met him, he had a love for life.
Burl was preceded in death by his mother and father, his brother Foster and sisters Glenda and Kay.
Burl is survived by his wife DeAnna Wright, children Regina Wright, Clifford Wright and Dwayne & daughter-in-law Rebekah Wright and sister Janet Bridges (brother-in-law James).
God will link the broken chain, as one by one we meet again. In our hearts he will always stay, Loved and remembered every day.
