Alma Ruth Love was born to Clarence and Alice Love on January 14, 1930 and in the evening hours of December 26, 2017, she left this earth to become and angel in heaven and be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Alma Ruth lived in Terrell almost all of her life. She and her mother, dad and uncle, John, lived in their home on Johnson Street for over 50 years. At the age of 70 and after the deaths of her parents and uncle, Alma Ruth began the project of replacing her 98-year-old home with a new home built on the same lot. She attended school for most of her educational years in Terrell and graduated from Terrell High School. Even after graduating, she remained an avid Terrell Tiger fan. At the age of 16 she began working for Texas Power and Light as a part time employee. She quickly became a full time employee, and remained with Texas Power and Light for 47 years. Alma Ruth loved meeting and talking with her friends, co-workers, and those who came into the office on a daily basis. She enjoyed teasing and playing pranks on her co-workers and friends, and she always had a smile and a positive attitude. She was a member of the Rockwall and Brin Church of Christ for over 50 years where she taught young children’s Sunday school classes for many years. During those years, many of her former Sunday school students would stop by to see her and visit. They would bring their children and later their grandchildren to meet Alma Ruth, and she thoroughly enjoyed seeing and visiting with them. In her later years, as her health began to fail, Alma Ruth moved to Corsicana, Texas to live near her godson, Lee Lewis and his wife, Ellen and their sons Luke and Reid. Alma Ruth is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and lifelong friends. She cherished her family and friends and was a true blessing to everyone who had the privilege of knowing and loving her. Funeral Services will be held 11am Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at the Anderson Clayton Funeral Home, 301 W. Nash, Terrell, Texas 75160. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Alma Ruth’s memory can be made to the children’s Sunday school department at the Rockwall and Brin Church of Christ, 407 N Rockwall Ave, Terrell, TX 75160.
