Robert H. Gilmore Jr. "Pop"

Robert H. Gilmore, Jr. "Pop", 70, of Terre Haute, passed away Monday, January 30th, 2012 in Union Hospital with his family by his side. He was born November 16, 1941 in Clinton, IN to Robert and Mary Gilmore.

Robert married Connie Wethington Gilmore on April 14th, 1984. He was a 1959 graduate of Garfield High School and attended Indiana State University and Ivy Tech. Robert retired from Alcan Aluminum. He was a member of William Penn Lodge #727, Murdock Auto Racing Club and American Legion Post 104. He enjoyed NASCAR, the St. Louis Cardinals, and was a life long fan of A.J. Foyt.

He is survived by his father, Robert Gilmore, Sr.; his wife, Connie; sons, Mark Gilmore (Erica) and Brett Gilmore (Brenda Bonine); daughters, Dawn Gilmore (Jerry Woodfin) and Shana Eno and special family, Thad and Sherri Mann. He also leaves behind eleven grandchildren, Crystal, Tyler, Shelby, Breeanna, Lacey, Spenser, Payton, Broc, Zachary, Seth and Gaige, and one great grandchild, Alexis.

Robert was preceded in death by his mother, Mary and his stepson, Jon Brush.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 2, 2012 from 4 p.m. until the time of Robert's funeral at 8 p.m. at the Roselawn Funeral Home in Terre Haute. Cremation will take place following services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Robert may be directed to the IU Medical Center Transplant Unit, American Cancer Society or a charity of the donor's choice.
