Robert Eugene Bensinger, 80, of Terre Haute, passed away on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at Regional Hospital. He was born on December 22, 1943, in Terre Haute, to Edward and Lula (Basham) Bensinger.
Bob is survived by his daughters, Marnie Newman (Terry) of Terre Haute and Brandi Denny (Steve, his favorite child) of Terre Haute; grandchildren, Christopher Newman (Brittaney), Samantha Newman (Lavarr), Makaela Denny (Michael), Steven R. Denny (Kennedy), and Brody Denny; great-grandchildren, Aveyah, Amira, and Liam; a brother, Dave Bensinger; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Richard Bensinger, Edward Bensinger, and Bennie Bensinger.
Bob was a graduate of Garfield High School. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. After many years of dedicated service, Bob retired from B & S Heating and Cooling. He was a member of the Riley American Legion, Masonic Lodge, and a past member of the Zorah Shrine.
Bob was an avid horseman whose hobbies included fishing, hunting, and wood carving. Most of all, he cherished the time that he spent with his kids and grandkids. He will be deeply missed.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, March 1 at Roselawn Funeral Home. A funeral ceremony will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, at the funeral home.
