Richard Wayne Spence

Richard Wayne Spence, 66 of Terre Haute, passed away at his residence on Saturday, June 9, 2012. He was born in Champaign, Ill., on Oct. 19, 1945, to Wayne C. Spence and Helen I. Spence. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 972, American Legion Post 104, and Indiana Sheriff Association. He served in the United States Air Force. He was self employed, printing press repair service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Helen Spence. He is survived by his companion, Julie Ann Emtin and family; a son, Sean Spence; daughters, Shelly Spence and Tavilyn Bunch; brothers, Jim Spence, Bob Spence, Paul Spence, and Joe Spence; and four grandchildren, Emma Spence, Riley Spence, Morgan Spence, and Gianna Bunch. Services will be Wednesday, June 13, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Mattox-Ryan Funeral Home, 602 South Seventh St. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. Military honors will be conducted by V.F.W. Post 972. Per his wishes cremation is scheduled. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to V.F.W. Post 972 in honor of Richard Spence. After services friends and family are invited to the V.F.W. Post for refreshments and a time of sharing.
