Patricia Ann Tarwater

Patricia Ann Tarwater, 80, of Terre Haute, Ind., passed away at 6:23 a.m. on Oct. 17, 2014, at Union Hospital. Patricia was very active until recently, succumbing to pneumonia and congestive heart failure. She was born on Dec. 4, 1933, in Vigo County, to Earnest and Frances Nichols. Patricia retired from the ISU bookstore. She loved to shop and spend time with her family. Patricia is survived by her daughter, Tammie Purcell; and her husband, Jerry; sisters, Sarah, Paula and Naomi; brothers, John, Pete and Sam; grandchildren, Jerri Lynn Purcell, Matthew and Andrew Purcell, Paul and Brian Rooksberry, and Courtney Tarwater; great-grandchildren, Ethan and Gage Rooksberry; and several nieces and nephews. Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Joe; sons, Robert and Kenny; and a daughter, Cynthia Jo Rooksberry. Services will be at 7 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 20, 2014, at Roselawn Funeral Home, with the visitation from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor Barry Corder.
