Patricia J. Deakins

Patricia Joan Kennedy Deakins, 77, of Terre Haute, passed away on October 28, 2013. She was born on November 2, 1935, in Linton, to John and Phyllis (Mitchell) Kennedy. Patti worked at the Holiday Inn for 38 years before her retirement in 2005. She was a family oriented person. Patti loved to take photographs of family and friends. She was the family photographer and family historian. She will forever be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and sister. Patti is survived by her children, Larry Deakins and wife Lynda of Beaumont, TX and Linda Pingleton and husband Scott of Poland, IN; grandchildren, Ashley Swearingen and husband Danny of Terre Haute, Erin Thompson and husband Kyle of Center Point, Austin Deakins and wife Jean of Houston, TX, Ryan Deakins and fiancée Amanda of Dallas, TX, Beau Pingleton of Terre Haute and Luke Pingleton of Brazil; great-grandchildren, Ava and Eli Swearingen and Madysen Deakins; sisters, Barbara Crowley and husband Albert of Terre Haute, Marilyn Douglas of Brazil, and Marge Kennedy of Riley; two sister-in-laws Margaret” Dood” Kennedy and Diana Kennedy Stevens; and many nieces and nephews. Patti was preceded in death by her parents and two brother, John Kennedy and Michael Kennedy. Visitation will take place from noon until 2 p.m. on Monday, November 4, 2013, at Roselawn Funeral Home.
