Miriam was born on August 10, 1920 in Terre Haute, the daughter of the late Fred and Goldie (Clayton) Layton. Miriam graduated from Garfield High School in 1938 and would later marry LeRoy L. Haring on October 10, 1941. He preceded her in death on December 28, 2002 after sixty one years of marriage.
As a devoted servant of the Lord, Miriam was a dedicated member of Maplewood Christian Church for several years. As a very determined woman, Miriam’s gracious, yet hardworking personality will not soon be forgotten. Miriam enjoyed gardening, spending time with her friends and cooking her famous macaroni and cheese. Her greatest joy came from being with her family, whom she loved dearly.
Miriam leaves to cherish her memory her loving son, Dr. Mark Haring, DDS and daughter-in-law, Joan Haring. She was the proud and loving grandma of Todd Haring, Tiffany and husband John Baker, Brad Haring, Shaughn Haring, Emily and husband Luke Naftzger, Zachary and fiancé Shannon Haring and Harmony and husband Jimmy Ignaut. Miriam also leaves behind sixteen great-grandchildren and a host of friends.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Miriam was welcomed home to heaven by her son, Michael Haring and daughter-in-law, Leslie Haring.
