Mark Allen Thompson

Mark A. Thompson, 64, of Terre Haute, passed away Thursday, Sept. 4, 2014, in his residence. Mark was born on March 5, 1950, in Terre Haute, to Vincent C. Thompson and G. Maxine Barnes Thompson. Mark was a member of St. Mark United Church of Christ and attended Beacon School of the Valley. Mark was a member of Happiness Bag, and enjoyed participating in Special Olympics, bowling, watching movies and camping. Mark was a big fan of the Indianapolis Colts and the Terre Haute Rex. Mark is survived by one sister and her husband, Cheryl and Leroy Pierce of Brazil, Ind.; nieces and nephews, Heather Burk, Holly Scheller and her husband Jeff, Michelle Lock and her husband Mike, and Todd Pierce. He is also survived by cousins Rick Bartl, Cherrie Friedrich, Vickie Romeril and Marsha McCauley. He is also survived by 10 great-nieces and nephews and his very special family at ResCare Treeline Group Home. Services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 8, 2014, at Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 N. 13th St., Terre Haute, Ind. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. on Monday until the service time at the funeral home. The Rev. Steve Moore will be officiating.
