Known affectionately as Margie or Moppy to those who knew and loved her most.
She was born Margaret Lucille Remington to James and Ora(Carlin) Remington on August 4, 1928 in Fontanet, Indiana.
She had fond memories of growing up in Spelterville and talked of it often. That is where she met
Harold “Yo” Hayne when she was 13 years old. She was a 1948 graduate of Otter Creek High School.
Her memory was amazing! She loved to tell stories about her school years and all of her classmates.
After graduation, she and Harold were married on June 3, 1948 and were married for 66 years.
She was a caring wife and mother who dedicated her life to raising their three children. Her greatest joy came from spending time with and caring for all of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was so excited and proud to finally become a great great grandmother just before her 95th birthday.
She was an excellent cook and always enjoyed cooking for family at gatherings and holidays.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Harold, her parents, her beloved son Ron Hayne, daughter in law Joyce Hayne whom she loved as a daughter, her sister Anna Evans, her brother James “Buddy” Remington as well her in-laws Con and Della Hayne and several brothers in law and sisters in law.
Margaret is survived by her children, daughter Janet Auterson and son Mark Hayne. Her close friend Kim Murphy. Her grandchildren Nikki and Jay Burch, Clint and Vivian Auterson, Bart and Kelsey Hayne, Dawn Davis and Jay Deuro, Bailey and Tyler Cox, DeAnna and Marcus Wills. Her great-grandchildren Claire, Caroline and William Burch, Emma and Anthony Graves, Isaac and Emma Auterson, Lucy Hayne, Anderson Davis and Madeleine Cox. And her great great-grandson Everett Graves as well as another great great-grandchild expected later this year.
