Obituary of Carol Isabelle McClintock
Carol I. McClintock, 96, of Terre Haute passed away July 16, 2024, at Springhill Village Nursing Home where she had been a resident for three years. She was born on May 29, 1928 in Linton, Greene County, IN, the second daughter of Orvel E. Strong and Helen B. (McDonald) Strong. Carol graduated from Wiley High School. She attended Indiana State Teachers College for two years and was a member Kappa Kappa Sorority. Carol married Donald Ray McClintock on Jan. 19, 1951. Donald preceded her in death on Dec.23, 2009. Carol worked at Quaker Maid early in life and in the cafeteria at Lost Creek Elementary School after her children were born. She was a member of the Moose Lodge in Terre Haute and enjoyed socializing with friends. Her hobbies included relaxing around the swimming pool with family, canning fruits and vegetables, playing card games, shopping and oil painting. She was a member of a ladies Bunco Club for many years and was a troop leader for her son’s Cub Scout Troop. Carol and her husband wintered in Lakeland Florida for several years. After she was widowed she resided at the Cannon Inn for over ten years. Carol and family attended various churches over the years including Chamberlain‘s Chapel, World Gospel, and New Covenant Fellowship in North Terre Haute. Carol was preceded in death by her husband Don, sister Joyce Williamson, and daughter Cheryl Lynn Meek of Michigan. Survivors include her son Mark and wife Robin of Terre Haute, daughter Pamela Sue Myers of Terre Haute, and son-in-law Bruce Meek and wife Laura of Michigan. Also surviving is granddaughter Angela Riffey and husband Troy of Terre Haute and grandson Matthew Taylor and wife Angela of Orlando, Florida, grandson Shaun Meek and wife Eliana of California, granddaughter Mandy Adams and husband Scott of Michigan, grandson Scott Taylor of Shelbyville, In, granddaughter Sarah Barnett and husband Craig of Terre Haute, and granddaughter Katlin Titus and husband Alex of Terre Haute. Carol had eighteen great grandchildren and two great - great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 11:00am to 1:00pm on July 25, 2024 with funeral services at 1:00 pm immediately following at Roselawn Funeral Home 7500 N Clinton Street in Terre Haute., Mr. Mark Gallagher officiating. Entombment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.
