Margaret Clark Petty passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on the 6th of January 2011. She was born in Maury County, Tennessee on September 19, 1929 to Etta and James T. Clark. She graduated from Springhill High School and moved to Memphis, Tennessee to start a career. She met and soon married Frederick Charles Petty in December 1953, now a retired Radiologist after a lengthy career at Scott and White Clinic, Temple, TX. Together they realized a dream life of raising two sons and service to many Temple organizations, including Grace Presbyterian Church. Margaret cooked Meals on Wheels for many years and joined Charlie in delivering them weekly. She enjoyed many community involvements and church circle. Margaret was very much a Lady, kind, pleasant, and a wonderful friend to so many whose lives she touched. She loved nature, whether it be wildflowers, birds, or random blooms and creatures. She encountered many of these on her early morning walks with special friends, serving her with both physical and mental therapy. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by husband, Dr. Charles Petty, son, Clark Petty and life partner Chris Chambers of San Antonio and Son Mike Petty and wife Melissa of Temple, grandsons Eric Petty and wife Yesica of Hewitt and Grandson Atticus Petty of Temple. Margaret is also survived by her tireless and loving companion and caregiver Debra Clark. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday January 10, 2011 at the Grace Presbyterian Church. Private family burial will be prior to the service at Bellwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be held 3-5 P.M. Sunday at the Scanio-Harper Funeral Home.
