Gary Lee Jenkins

Gary Lee Jenkins, age 64, of Georgetown, Texas passed away on Friday, February 2, 2018 in Temple, Texas. Gary was born May 28, 1953 in Pontiac, Michigan to Leeman Jackson Jenkins and Dorothy Evelyn Vonbuelow. He had 3 siblings, 1 sister Ruth and 2 brothers Robert and Richard. Growing up Gary played football and was in the marching band and loved all things music. Gary attended school in New Jersey and graduated from Pennsaken High School in 1972. He was a Navy Veteran. He served from 1972 to 1975. He trained during Vietnam and left for sea. He served on the USS Springfield, USS Bennington, USS Milwaukee and USS Fortify. Gary was a talented master carpenter and was self employed as Jenkins Custom Services for 27 years. Some of his hobbies included playing guitar with his friends, writing stories and poems, drawing, painting, writing music and scuba diving. He was a member of Celebration Church of Georgetown, Texas. Gary was a certified scuba diver, Boy Scout Ranger and volunteer fire firefighter. He is survived by his children, David, Jeremiah, Katie and Alicia. His children meant the world to him. Gary was a loving father, friend and will be missed by all who knew him. A memorial service for Gary will be held Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home, Temple, Texas.
