Amelia Sue Pagel, age 99, of Morgan’s Point Resort, formerly of Temple, passed away on Monday, February 26, at a local care center. She was born on August 2, 1924 in Rosebud, Texas the daughter of Jake and Flonnie (Weems) Dodson.
A visitation will take place on Friday, March 1, 2024 from 5:00pm – 8:00pm and on Saturday, March 2, 2024 from 9:00am until the time of service at 10:00am at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home in Temple. Burial will follow at Bellwood Memorial Park in Temple.
During WWII Sue worked at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio to help with the repair of planes that were damaged in the war, she later worked for The Pagel Jewelers in Temple with her husband Albert, she also was a homemaker and enjoyed working with and making ceramics.
She is survived by her children, Hal Pagel and wife Cindy of Moffat and Lori Pagel of Morgan’s Point Resort, grandchildren, Misty Donaldson, Travis Hickson, Dusty Pagel and wife April, Albert “Bear” Pagel, Sarah Lucas and husband John, Amanda Kelloway and husband Brad, and Rion Pagel and wife Aliuna, great grandchildren, Cody Luedeman, Ethan Luedeman, Jessica Pagel, Alexis Pagel, Cynthia Pagel, Tyler Pagel, Kyle Pagel, Malory Conner and husband Logan, Haleigh Pagel, Blaze Pagel, Riley Pagel, Evan Lucas, Bradley Kelloway, and Raelee Kelloway, a great-great grandson Oliver Luedeman, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Sue was preceded in death by her husband Albert Raymond Gust Pagel, Jr.,parents Jake and Flonnie Dodson, and siblings, Mary Prescott, Leola Dodson, Cecil Dodson, J.R. Dodson, Alice Johnston, Neal Dodson, Imogene Dodson, and Allene Stone.
Sue had asked for all in attendance to please wear the color red in her honor!
