Priscilla M. (Haffner) Black-Broxson, age 85, of Tampa, Florida passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2020. Priscilla was born April 22, 1934 in Brooksville, Florida, the daughter of Maude A. Barnum and Harold R. Haffner, Sr.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, John Herman Broxson and Robert O. Black, Jr.; and siblings Ruth D (Haffner) Thomas, Harold Richard Haffner Jr, Irwin Haffner, Carl Haffner, & Margery L (Haffner) Butler.
Priscilla attended Gorrie Elementary, Woodrow Wilson Middle and graduated in 1953 from H.B. Plant High School. She was a life-long resident of Tampa and retired from Johnson Control-Globe Battery Division as a senior payroll clerk. She had some college background.
Her hobbies consisted of spending as much time as possible with family and friends anytime she could, camping, traveling, and vacationing at the beach. Anytime she talked to anyone she would say "Come on over and visit me anytime", she loved having company. She loved her cats and they loved her, showing their affection by sitting on her lap and sleeping with her. If it was an owl, she loved it. She loved ice cream and popcorn, payday, snickers and maple nut goodies. Mom was a beautiful dancer and taught dancing lessons at Fred Astaire for several years.
Mom loved her family unconditionally, more than life itself and did not have a selfish bone in her body. She was a kindhearted, helpful, caring, giving, understanding, patient, and loving lady. She was the epitome of an angel on earth and loved by all who had the honor and privilege of knowing her.
She was a member of Lake Magdalene United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Yvonne J. Perkins (Douglas Harrison); son, Wayne C. Olson (Mary Olson); brother, Dr. George Haffner (Marjorie Haffner); grandchildren, Elton Perkins and Joshua Perkins (Erin Perkins); and great-grandchildren, Daniel, Alex and Aidan Perkins.
A visitation for Priscilla will be held in the near future at Blount & Curry Funeral Home at Garden of Memories, 4207 E Lake Ave, Tampa, followed by a funeral service and interment at Myrtle Hill Memorial Park.
Notification of service will be posted on the funeral home website as soon as a date has been determined.
