LOOME, John Francis, Jr., 75, of Tampa, FL passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2016. He was born May 16, 1941 in Dallas, TX, the son of Florence (née McCarron) and John Francis Loome, Sr. John was a graduate of Loyola Blakefield, Mt. St. Mary’s College and University of Baltimore Law School. He worked for 28 years as an FBI Special Agent, notably in the Cleveland, Washington and Tampa offices. He was a proud member of Tampa Palms Country Club and the Society of Former Special Agents of the FBI. John was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Capt. James Loome, USN; and his son, Mark Loome. Survivors include his wife Mary Eileen Loome; sons, Dr. John Loome, III (Heather) of Washington, DC, Kevin Loome (Lisa) of Philadelphia, PA and Brian Loome of Roswell, GA; his sister, Sister Patricia Loome, SND of Athens, GA; and five grandchildren, Jack, Olivia, Henry, Devin and Harrison. The family will receive friends, 7-9 p.m., Monday, August 29th at Francis J. Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Blvd. W, Silver Spring, MD 20901. A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated, 11 a.m., Tuesday, August 30th at the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament, 3630 Quesada St NW, Washington, DC 20015. A private interment will take place at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. A memorial service will be held, 3 p.m., Saturday, September 10th at the Catholic Student Center at USF, 13005 N. 50th St., Tampa, FL 33617.
