Chief Master Sergeant John D. Deininger, retired, passed away on December 2nd, 2018 at his home in Seffner, Florida at the age of 71. John was born on February 17th, 1947 in Piqua, Ohio to Grace Louise and John Calvin Deininger. He grew up in Dayton, Ohio. John enlisted in the Air Force in 1965, attained the rank of Chief Master Sergeant, and after proudly serving for 30 years, retired in 1995. John married Linda in 1973. They traveled and lived around the world as a family with sons, Michael and Christopher, until his retirement from MacDill Air Force Base in 1995. John then began his second career as a terminal supervisor at MacDill Fuel Depot until his retirement. John and Linda enjoyed playing weekly pinochle with their friends, Charlie and Sandy Jordan.
Besides his parents, John was preceded in death by his brothers, David and William, and sister, Shirley (Shroth).
Surviving, are his wife of 45 years, Linda, and their two sons: Mike; Chris and his wife, Emmie, and their son, Max. Also surviving are his nieces, Shirleen and her son Craig, and Amber, all of Dayton, Ohio.
Friends and family will be gathering on December 15th from 10:00-11:00am at Landmark Baptist Church located at 6021 WIlliams Road in Seffner, 33584. John’s memorial service will be held immediately following from 11:00am-12:00pm.
