IDA “MICKEY” H. COLEMAN SUNRISE APRIL 11, 1929 - SUNSET JUNE 25, 2017 Ida “Mickey” H. Coleman age 88, died peacefully at the Courtyard Towers in Mesa, AZ on Sunday, June 25, 2017 after a spirited battle with Alzheimer's disease. To all that loved her she was known as “Mickey” Mickey was born on April 11, 1929 in Roanoke County, VA. She was the oldest of 2 children. She was also raised and educated there as well. One of Mickey’s proudest accomplishments was becoming a Solider in the United States Army. While stationed in Germany she met Edward Coleman. As their relationship blossomed they fell in love and decided to marry. Mickey eventually got out of the Military; while her husband remained in the Army and retired. They settled down in Seaside, California where she attended and served the Lord faithfully at Friendship Baptist Church. She enjoyed going to church singing in the choir, and playing bingo, and appreciated a cold beer. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Edward; her mother, Ethel Davis and sister, Louise Harvey. She leaves to celebrate her life: her daughter, Paulette Yvonne Marie Coleman; a niece, Christine Harvey Ellison and her husband John; grandson, Edward Dansby; granddaughters, Angelica Dansby and Kristina Dansby; 5 Great grandchildren, 2 Grand Nieces and a host of family and friends. Her last days were spent at the Courtyard Towers. The family is very grateful to all of the staff and, the Phoenix VNA and Sun Crest Hospice for their wonderful care and many acts of kindness. A Memorial Service will be held at Courtyard Towers Senior Living 22 N Robson, Mesa AZ 85201 on Monday, July 10, 2017 at 10 AM. “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.” PSALMS 116:15 KJV
