Geraldine Massengill

Geraldine Massengill, known by most as Ethel, age 81, of New Tazewell, Tennessee passed away on Wednesday, August 4, 2021. Geraldine was born May 11, 1940. She retired from housekeeping at Laurel Manor. Geraldine was a member of Bethel Baptist Missionary Church. She married her late husband Lawrence Massengill on May 14, 1955 and together they helped raise their nieces and nephews. Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents Jesse and Geneva Patterson, husband Lawrence Massengill, and siblings Jenis Patterson, Horrace Patterson, Wayne Patterson, L.B. Sweet, Vern Carter, and June Short. She is survived by her brother Den Patterson. Brother-in-law Carl Massengill. Sisters-in-law Alice Carpenter and Juanita Patterson. As well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

The family will receive friends Monday August 9th 6 until 8 PM at Coffey Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Tuesday August 10th at 11 AM in the Coffey Funeral Home chapel. A graveside service will follow in the Bethel Cemetery.
