George Edward Keller, 87 of Cumberland Gap, Tennessee went home to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday, February 24, 2022, at his home surrounded by his wife and family after a valiant battle with cancer.
George was born July 1, 1934, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Edward and Florence Keller. He graduated as a painter and decorator from Williamson College of the Trades located in Media, PA. In 1954 he married Leona Isabella Campbell, his wife of 68 years.
He accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior in his early 30’s and soon felt called into the ministry of the gospel. He spent 7 years as a missionary with his family in the Philippines, 5 of those as a dorm parent at Faith Academy. His life’s work included time at several bible camps as well as teaching bible in the public schools and as a pastor of churches in both Tennessee and Florida.
Throughout his life he greatly enjoyed being outdoors fishing, hiking, and searching for arrowheads with his loyal dogs, all of which are reflected in his cherished artwork. George was an awesome storyteller much to the delight of his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed playing his guitar and singing with them around many a campfire over the years.
George is survived by his wife Leona, his children Vicki (Donn) Toensfeldt, Kimberley (Don) Tyson, David (Tori) Keller (Teresa Woolum, 1st wife) & Judith (Orban) Amix, 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
George always went out of his way to help others, so in lieu of flowers he would be honored to know that you used the money you would have spent on flowers to help someone with a need; or consider giving a donation to one of the charities that were dear to his heart…

He will be forever remembered by the multitude of lives he has touched over the years. His absence has left a huge hole in our hearts, but we know there will be a joyous reunion one day in Heaven. We hold on to the truth of some of his favorite verses; Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast.
There will only be a private family memorial at a later date.
