Edgar Ray Janeway

Edgar Ray Janeway, age 81, of Tazewell TN, was born August 15, 1936 and went to be with the Lord July 3, 2018. Ray was saved and baptized in his early 20s. He was ordained as a Deacon at Shady Grove Baptist Church and remained active in his duties at Liberty Baptist Church until his passing. Ray enjoyed farming and spending time with his grandchildren. Throughout his life Ray made many friends who will remember him by his honesty, generosity and unconditional willingness to help others. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Clarissa Evans Janeway. Parents Elmer and Emma Janeway. Brothers Harley Janeway and Junior Janeway. Sisters Beulah Mae Mackey, Ethel McDaniel, Georgia Lee McDaniel and Geneva Harvey. Ray is survived by his children Dennis Ray Janeway and wife Mary, Sherry Keck and husband Richard, and Sheila Williams and husband Tony. Grandchildren Ethan McDowell, Austin Williams, Chloe Keck, Sarah Janeway, and Braden Williams. Twin sister Faye Brown, Dollie Estes and Shirley Jean Carter. As well a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends Thursday July 5th from 5 until 8 PM at Coffey Funeral Home in Tazewell. Funeral services will follow at 8 PM in the Coffey Funeral Home chapel in Tazewell. Graveside services will be Friday July 6th at 11 AM in Irish Memorial Gardens in Tazewell.
