She was born on December 10, 1927, in Taylor, TX to her parents, Willie and Lena Mager. She was raised on a farm in Coupland, TX. She was Baptized and confirmed at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Coupland. She attended school at Coupland and graduated from Taylor High School.
She married Fred Klaus Dec. 8, 1946. She helped Fred work on the farm. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandma. She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church. She taught Sunday School and was on the Altar Guild for many years. She was a member of the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary, director of the Round Rock SPJST, and a member of the Austin VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
When she wasn’t helping on the farm, she loved to cook, bake, work in her garden, and especially loved her grandkids and great-grandkids. She loved her goats and her dog Blackie.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Fred; her infant son, Douglas; her parents; her sister, Aleen Smith; and several brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws.
She is survived by her daughters, Karen and husband Jerry Turek of Pflugerville, Deborah and husband Larry Rohlack of Round Rock; her son, Gary and wife Sharon Klaus of Taylor; her six grandchildren, Jimmy Turek, Kristy and husband Jeff Hill, Amy Rohlack, Lance Rohlack and Kassi Carruth, Justin and wife Amy Klaus, Kimberly and husband Richard Bolz; her six great-grandchildren, Landon Self, Brayden Hill, Kyler and Raven Klaus, Cale Rohlack, and Jaxson Bolz; her brother-in-law, Virgil and wife Norma Klaus of Austin; her sister-in-law, Estelle Schiller of San Angelo; and numerous nieces and nephews who she loved.
A visitation will be held on Sunday March 24, 2013 from 5-7pm at Condra Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Monday March 25, 2013 at 2pm at Condra Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Taylor City Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons, Jimmy Turek, Justin Klaus, and Lance Rohlack, and her nephews, Randy Klaus, Mark Klaus, and Clifton Gonzenbach. Honorary pallbearers will be her nephews, Stephen Klaus, Kevin Klaus, Herbert Klaus and Larry Schiller.
