She was born on September 9, 1929 to Agapito and Susana Cervantez. She was married to Marcos Garza for over 50 loving years until his passing.
Mrs. Garza was a stay at home wife, mother, and devoted grandmother. She enjoyed working in her garden, cooking, and trips to San Juan Basilica. She loved starting each morning with toast and Sanka coffee, talking on the phone to her sisters, and watching her “stories” on TV.
She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Minerva Garza Rico, husband Marcos, 3 brothers and 4 sisters.
She is survived by her daughters, Anna Garza of Pflugerville, Betty (Tim) Hernandez of Taylor, and Norma Garza of Taylor; Her sisters Lupe Cervantez, Delia Rangel, Phyllis (Joe) Rojas, and brother Roy (Cathy) Cervantez; Her grandchildren Marlena (Chris) Jones, Samantha (Mike) Olivo, Sabrina (Matt) Smulski, Marcos (Kevin Fite) Diaz, Suzanna (Trevor) Bachman, Ana-Lisa Alderete, Minerva Alderete, and her great-grandchildren Michael Rubio Jr, Aiden, Tyler and Wyatt Smulski, and Christopher and Karson Jones.
Visitation will be November 11 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Condra Funeral Home in Taylor, with a Rosary at 7 p.m. Services will be November 12 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church followed by burial at the Taylor City Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers will be Marcos Diaz, Michael Rubio Jr, Mike Olivo, Chris Jones, Matt Smulski, and Trevor Bachman.
Mrs. Garza’s family would like to thank Dawn, Kendra and Lisa with New Century Hospice and all the nurses and staff at Falcon Ridge Rehabilitation for their loving care.
