Born on November 3, 1960, in Sylvester, Georgia, Willie Hill attended the local public schools and was a chosen leader amongst his peers from an early age. Willie graduated from Worth County High School and moved to Tallahassee, Florida, to attend Florida A&M University (FAMU). At FAMU, he was a member of the innovative Marching 100 as a trombone player. Later, Willie relocated to Tampa, Florida, to pursue his love of music and began working at Busch Gardens with the famous Sheiks of Morocco band. There, he formed long lasting relationships.
Professionally, Willie’s call to leadership led him to corporate America in 1999. He excelled in his new career for several fortune 500 companies, developing and skillfully executing leadership teachings that are still used today.
Willie experienced another exciting change in 1999. He married Gina, the love of his life. Early in their marriage, Willie and Gina built a solid faith foundation together by joining and serving faithfully at Revealing Truth Ministries (RTM). Willie was ordained a Deacon by his mentor and founding RTM Pastor Greg Powe. Though no longer a full-time musician, Deacon Willie continued to use his musical talents in the church.
In 2011, God told Willie to leave corporate America and use all he had learned to assist in the advancement of His kingdom. This transition started his career at Revealing Truth Ministries as a full-time employee, faithfully teaching, mentoring and being a graceful leader at all times.
Additionally, Willie was the Founder and President of Purposeful Leadership LLC, a JMT Certified Coach, Trainer and Speaker of The John Maxwell Company and Stephen Covey Certified. Willie served the Body of Christ faithfully in whatever way he could until God whispered to him “Well done, my good and faithful servant. Come take your rest!”
Throughout his life, Willie never met a stranger. His calm, reassuring presence, soothing voice and encouraging smile welcomed everyone he met. Willie’s love for the Lord was contagious, and he always made time to share a word of wisdom with anyone with whom he came in contact. Willie’s skills, leadership and mentorship have made a lasting impact on his loved ones, church family and friends.
Willie was preceded in death by his Father Mr. Willie Mack Hill, Sr. and Sister Mary Fowler. He leaves cherished, loving memories with his loyal, loving Wife Gina, Sons William (Na’Gel) Hill and Jamaal Hill, Mother Ms. Annie Hill, Sisters Diane Nether and Minister Sue Young, Brother Michael (Alex) Hill, Grandchildren Caleb and Sanaya, Father-in-love Mr. William George, Mother-in-love Ms. Betty Gadberry, Sisters-in-love Melina (Bob) Siler and Misty Lawson as well as a host of loving, devoted Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, Extended Family and Friends.
