Bill was born on April 1942 to Walter and Nora Johnson in Hope, Indiana. After graduating from Hope High School, h] went on to study to major in Accounting at Indiana University.
In 1968 Bill was employed by Cummins, Inc an engine & technology company. he worked in accounting and was often sent to open and monitor new factory divisions working as a purchasing agent. Then after 29 years Bill retired from Cummins in 1997. However, Cummins then hired Bill back as a subcontractor to help them open a new factory in Alabama. Once that plant was opened and running, he started working for the State of Florida in the Department of Children and Family Services writing contracts for them over the next 10 years. Bill was also quite the handyman and built 3 houses (2 in South Carolina, 1 in Indiana) by himself over his working career. After finally retiring he spent his time enjoying friends and family
It was in the spring of 1980, he met Diana, and they were married in the fall of 1980 for over 44 years.
Bill was an active member of the Livingston Avenue Church of Christ, Lutz, Florida.
Bill was predeceased by his brother Bob Johnson, of Bethany, Missouri. He is survived by Diana Johnson, wife of 44 years, John & Rosa Dooley, son & daughter-in-law, Brittany Dooley, granddaughter, and Betty Johnson, sister.
