Major William E. Coker, Jr. (retired, USAF), 76 passed away after a brief illness on June 11, 2016. After graduating from the University of Arizona, he became an F4 Phantom Air Force fighter pilot with the 33 TAC fighter wing and flew over 100 combat missions over North Vietnam. He received the Air Force Cross and the Distinguished Flying Cross among others. After he retired from the Air Force, he became co-owner of Suncoast Insullation Manufacturing Co. in Tampa. Bill was an avid golfer and loved the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the LSU Tigers. He is survived by his loving family, wife Sharon Kelley Coker, son Charles Clayton Coker sisters Judy Austen Coker and partner Theresa Kier of Chicago and Linda Jans and husband Darrel of West Monroe, La., and his beloved pets; Barron, Bogie, and Butler. In lieu of flowers donation can be made to The Humane Society of Tampa and Disabled Veterans of America. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, June 16 from 2-4PM, at Blount & Curry Funeral Home, 3207 W Bearss Ave in Tampa.
