He came from very humble beginnings but transformed himself into a model son, sibling, soldier, husband father, and grandfather. He traveled the world and on his journeys learned 5 languages.
1st. Sgt. Cardona is survived by his wife of 57 years Carmen I. Cardona (Santoni). 1st Sgt. Cardona and his wife were both originally from Aguada Puerto Rico, they both moved to Meriden Connecticut separately but met there and were married on October 23, 1965.
1st Sgt. Cardona is also survived by his children William Cardona, Cassandra Cardona, and Angela Mennie. He is also survived by his siblings Dioniso Cardona, Sonia Cardona and Rick Cardona his grandchildren Thomas, Christina, Angelina, Bella, Primo, and Gigi. His great grandchildren Nathaniel, Mackenzie, Jaiden, Ryan, Ariana, Kyle, Liam, Jordan, Jayden, Penelope and Colton.
Services will be at Blount and Curry Funeral Home Carrollwood Thursday August 25, 2022 at 10:00 AM. He will be interned at Myrtle Hill Cemetery.
