William Raymond Benschoter, “Bill”, age 83, of Lutz, Florida, passed away on Tuesday, February 15, 2022. Bill was born on March 3, 1938, in Toledo, Ohio. He was a 1956 graduate of Pasco High School.
Bill served in the U.S. Marine Reserves. He was a Mason and a Shriner. He was a salesman for GE Supply where he won many top salesman awards and retired in 2000, after 32 years of service. He coached little league baseball and played fast pitch softball in his younger years. After retiring, he played senior softball, winning two national championships. He was an avid Florida Gator fan and enjoyed cheering on the Gators, Bucs, and Rays. He also enjoyed fishing, bowling, working crossword puzzles, listening to jazz, and blues music. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and a loyal friend. He will be dearly missed.
Bill was preceded in death by his father, Donald Benschoter; his mother, Margaret Luna; and his brothers, Don Benschoter and Larry Benschoter. Bill is survived by Dixie, his beloved wife of 62 years; daughter, Susan Arce (Lionel); grandson, Anthony Altieri; brother, Jack Benschoter (Melody); sister in-law, Dottie Benschoter; nieces, nephews, and extended family.
