Collins, Walter Whittley III (Rip) 64, passed away on November 25, 2022. Rip was a graduate of Tampa Catholic class of 1976, and went on and got his bachelor’s degree at USF. After graduation, he had an exciting career with Microsoft in which he retired in the early 90’s. Rip was a loyal Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and USF Bulls fan. Rip enjoyed tailgating and attending the games. Some of his favorite pastimes were golfing, boating, fishing, and cooking. He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Whittley Collins II. He is survived by his mother Joan Collins; brothers Tim (Sandy) Collins, Terry (Stacy) Collins; sisters Dian Hoock (Kevin) and Cyndi Spack (Mike); Uncle Bob Collins (Marge); Aunts; Bonnie Dunn (late Jack Dunn) and Donna O’Connor (Chuck); numerous loving nieces, nephews.
Rip was an incredible son, brother, uncle, and friend.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Blount & Curry Funeral Home Oldsmar West Hillsborough (6802 Silvermill Dr. Tampa, FL 33635) from 3-5 pm on Friday December 16th. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Metropolitan Ministries in Walt’s honor.
