

Steve was born the middle of three children in Highland Park, Michigan, to Nadine and Robert Gendron on December 6, 1952. Steve’s family moved to Tampa when he was in 3rd grade. Steve met his soulmate Sue Leyden at school in the 4th grade and married her on December 18, 1976 in Tampa. Steve attended Leto High School and graduated from The University of South Florida. He worked for Coca-Cola as an accountant for over 20 years. He influenced countless ball players over the years through his involvement in youth baseball.
Steve is preceded in death by his mother and father Nadine and Robert Gendron.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife Sue Gendron, son Steven Gendron (Maryann), daughter Stacy Gendron, sister Denise Hand (Bill), brother Keith Gendron (Kay), grandchildren Hank and Sarah Gendron, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Keith Gendron, Steven Gendron, Daniel Gendron, Cory Gendron, Ryan Gendron, and Tom Hughey.
The funeral Mass will be Friday, May 19 at 10:00 a.m. at Incarnation Catholic Church with Fr. Michael Cormier officiating.
Immediately following is visitation at Blount & Curry Funeral Home Oldsmar West Hillsborough Chapel from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.

Steve’s family extends their heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to Dr. Eric Carter, the nurses and staff at St. Joseph’s Hospital-North, and everyone at the Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute. Thank you for being our rock through Steve’s seven year battle with cancer.
