Shirley Ann Gooding Cueto

She is survived by her daughters Cynthia Rodriguez and Grace Lopez. She is preceded in death by her husband, Louis Cueto and their son, Robert Louis Cueto.

Shirley adored her Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren tremendously. Grandson Eugene Louis Rodriguez (Candice) Demi, Sevi and Scottie; Granddaughters Christina Rodriguez and Gina Azzarelli (Austin) Emma and Eli. Grandson Christian Lopez (Christina) Olivia and Toby; and grandson Aaron Lopez. She is also survived by her brother Thomas Gooding and nephews Steven Gooding, David Gooding and Mark Gooding, and niece Carol Gooding Henderson.

Shirley was born on April 11, 1936 to Charles T. and Gladys Bingman Gooding in Tampa, Florida. She graduated from H. B. Plant High School in 1954. She briefly attended college in Tallahassee at Florida State University where she would become a member of Zeta Tau Alpha Fraternity. Her granddaughter Christina would become a legacy Zeta at UCF.

Shirley and Louis were married for 69 years. Shirley had many talents. Shirley was always very involved in her church affiliations. She was a Boy Scout Troop Leader. She loved her Yoga Classes at the Y for many years. She also adored her grands and great-grands. She would fulfill her dream of graduating from college when she graduated from the University of Tampa with her Bachelor’s degree in the early 80’s.

Shirley was a very accomplished Executive Secretary. She worked for many years at Tampa Electric (TECO) where she would eventually retire.

A Celebration of Life visitation will be held from 11:00am – 1:00pm on Sunday, May 4, 2025 at Blount and Curry Life Event Center, 605 S. MacDill Ave, Tampa, FL 33609. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Our family was blessed with several very special caregivers in Shirley’s final years. Keicia, Karen and especially Monica the wonderful staff at the Colonnade of Carrollwood will always hold a special place in our hearts. Home Instead and Hospice Garnett Team helped us tremendously these past few weeks.
