97, originally from Whitesville Kentucky and recently residing at The Brookdale Bayshore in Tampa Fl, passed November 22, 2015. Jane was born on Oct 27, 1918 to Lonnie and Bertha McCarty, living most of her life in Kentucky, moving to Brookdale Bayshore 7 years ago to be close to one of her sons. She is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years Louis, her step sister Virginia Dafoe and her brother Haynes. Jane is survived by her three sons, Richard and his wife Dominique, David and his wife Janet and Jim and his wife Carol, one granddaughter Lisa and her husband Chris, a great granddaughter Veronica and her dear sister in law, Opal McCarty. After returning from Michigan to Whitesville to help her mother who had had a stroke, she married Louis and started the adventure of being an Army wife for 33 years until Louis retired and moved to Louisville. Jane and Louis were the first dependents to be sent to Germany after WW II which led to numerous exploits and humorous stories as they lived on the economy dealing with challenges they never imagined back in Kentucky. Raising three boys, Jane was a soccer mom before the word later worked its way into the English language attending countless basketball and baseball games the boys were a part of. She enjoyed being with young people and was the secretary to the Principal of Fort Knox High School before retiring. Outliving nearly all her friends and relatives Jane remained positive and passionate about life, her family, her beloved Kentucky Wildcats and her adopted Rays. Sara will be buried in Owensboro Kentucky alongside her husband Louis and Sara’s mother and father. We would like to thank everyone for their patient and loving care both at Brookdale Bayshore and LifePath Hospice. Arrangements handled by Blount & Curry MacDill, 813-876-2421.
