Roberto Grey

Roberto Grey, 84, passed away in his home with his wife Dora by his side on Saturday, August 27th. This man took a chance and left Cuba in 1960 shortly after getting married to pursue a life of freedom. We will never understand the strength of that one decision but we, as his children, are grateful for that choice. Our Dad was a simple man. He never really wanted anything grand. He was most content when home tending to his many fruit plants and flowers. He was able to live in that home for more than 20 years after retiring from the phone company as an underground cable splicer. The last few years were the toughest for him as our mother was slowly ravaged by dementia. We will honor him in his death and keep him close in our hearts.

Dad was preceded in death by his middle son, William Grey. He leaves behind his wife, Dora, of 62 years. Eldest daughter, Lisy Saavedra (Robbie) grandson, Joshua, granddaughter, Vanessa DeMarinis and great granddaughter Gabriella. Eldest son Bobby (Margarita) granddaughter Andrea. Willie's daughters, granddaughter Nichole (Jonathon), great grandkids, Norah and Jonathan Jr. Granddaughter Ariel (Angel) great granddaughter Charlie Youngest son, Richard (Jennifer) granddaughter Rainn, grandson Mason.

A visitation for Roberto will be held Saturday, September 3, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Gonzalez Funeral Home, 7209 North Dale Mabry Highway, Tampa, FL 33614, followed by a prayer service from 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM. After the services there will be a gathering at Bobby's house from 4:00PM to 6:00PM.
