Robert known to many as Bob or “Bobby T.,” was born September 16, 1945 in Chester, Pennsylvania. He graduated from St. James High School in Chester and obtained a Bachelor of Science from Widener University. Bob and his wife Sharyn Townsley were married 54 years, raised 4 children and lived in Fort Lauderdale, Florida until 2017 where they were members of St. Anthony Parish. He spent most of his career in the hospitality industry and worked 20+ years with Starwood.
Bob was a man of family, faith, and fun. He had the kindest heart, was the best listener and loved to make people laugh. Bob was well read with a wealth of trivial knowledge. He supported his children in every aspect of their lives. He took advantage of every opportunity he could with his grandchildren. Bob and his wife Sharyn did everything together from cooking and traveling to attending sporting events and being involved in their church. Bob loved sports particularly University of Miami, Florida State University, Miami Dolphins and Tampa Bay Buccaneers football games. He was the spirit of every holiday, and he loved his impressive decorating traditions which were enjoyed by family and friends all year long. Bob was a collector of many things and took great pride in his “Dickens’ Village” which he put on display during the Holiday season.
Bob and his wife were members of St. Timothy Parish in Lutz, Florida. Bob is a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus and was an active volunteer with the Men’s Club. Bob is survived by his wife Sharyn Townsley, his children Brandon Townsley, Sean Townsley, Adrianna Powers, his daughter-in-law, Jennifer and his son-in-law David, his grandchildren Tanner, Mckenna, Mason and Aneliese. He is also survived by his two sisters Joanne Patchak and Mary Lou Vorcheimer and their families. Bob was predeceased by his father Robert Townsley, mother Florence Townsley, and his son Damien Townsley.
