Bob was born September 20th, 1927 in Irondequoit, NY to Beatrice and Frederick Stuck. Following the death of his older brother Freddie overseas in WWII, Bob left high school at 17 to join the fight with the US Navy. He served 2 terms with the Navy and was honorably discharged in 1945. Bob later finished high school and then served in the US Coast Guard for 3 years. Bob graduated from the University of Buffalo with an English degree and went on to work for Rochester Telephone in NY where he met his bride, Barbara Green. They were married in 1959. They raised two children, Nancy and Gerry, living briefly in California, then Indiana, but calling Tampa FL their home where they lived together for over 50 years.
Bob was a quiet but very talented man with a wide variety of interests. He was an accomplished athlete having played basketball in the Coast Guard League, Baseball in College, bowling socially, then on to becoming an avid and very skilled golfer. Bob wrote poetry, music, and was a talented amateur artist, where several of his paintings are enjoyed by his family today.
Bob and Barbara are charter members of Grace Lutheran Church in Tampa where Bob served on the Church council for 2 terms and sang in the church choir for many years.
Bob is survived by his wife, Barbara, of 60 years, and two children, Nancy and Gerry, grandson Tim, and his niece Toshi, and 2 nephews David and Brian in CA. Flowers or donations may be sent to Grace Lutheran Church at 3714 W Linebaugh Ave, Tampa, FL.
