Francis, Robert D. "Bob", 81, of Tampa, Fl was born in Dallas, Tx on March 13, 1936 and passed on May 12, 2017. Bob was predeceased by his parents Earl and Martha Francis, his brother Tommy Francis and his beloved son Robert "Bobby" Francis. He graduated from Mesquite High School in 1955 and Hendrix College in 1959. He spent much of his early years in the telecommunications industry with companies like GE, Honeywell, Rockwell International, Infotron Systems and General Datacom International to name a few. He then started his own Milford Communications Partners in 1993 because of his strong entrepreneurial spirit. Bob was a larger than life personality who was passionate about his family as well as boating and a strong supporter of the NRA. He was a tremendous mentor to companies around the world but especially through many organizations here in Tampa. Bob believed in paying it forward through consulting with start up businesses on strategic planning for a successful future. Of course we would be remiss if we did not mention his love of Friday night margaritas as well! He is survived by his loving wife Lorraine Y. Hori; daughters Debra Francis and Robyn Thomas; grandchildren Marisa and Marie Francis (Debra Francis), Cody Thomas (Robyn Thomas) and Rael Francis (Robert Francis) and great-grands Gage, Ava and Cooper (Cody Thomas) and Grayson (Marisa Francis). He is also survived by his daughter and son-in-law Chantelle and Jim Noble. Bob will be greatly missed by his family, friends and his sweet cat Missy, but we are comforted by knowing he is with the Lord our God and his son Bobby. Bob's Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, June 3rd at Blount & Curry Funeral Home, Carrollwood Chapel. The family will receive visitors beginning at 3pm before the service at 4pm. There will be a gathering after the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Moffitt Cancer Center or the American Heart Association.
