Martin, Rita Harper, 103, passed away November 30, 2016 in Tampa. The daughter of Emmie Fricks Kendrick and Edward Kendrick, she was born March 3, 1913 in Calhoun, Georgia. She lived in Tampa for 86 years and was married to Mack Harper, who passed away in 1968. She later married the late Paul Martin. She has one daughter, Patsy Harper Weaver and one granddaughter, Pattie-Jo Bassett and several nieces and nephews. Rita was employed by Hav-a-Tampa Cigar Factory for 47 years and was chosen to represent Hav-a-Tampa Cigar Factory at the Dallas State Fair in Dallas, Texas for three weeks. Rita was a member of Seminole Heights United Methodist Church and was very active in various ministries. She was loved by family and friends. A visitation will take place Thursday, December 8, 2016 at 1pm in the Blount & Curry Funeral Home- Carrollwood Chapel, 3207 W Bears Ave, Tampa, Florida 33618 on with a service to follow at 2 pm.
