Rick Possert Sr., a lifetime Hubbard, Ohio resident who recently fulfilled his dream of moving to Florida to live near his children, passed away suddenly at his home in Clearwater, FL on Thursday, the 6th of February, at the age of 63.
He was born in Youngstown, Ohio on August 30, 1956 to Joseph & Margaret (Pishok) Possert. He was a 1974 Graduate of Hubbard High School and attended Youngstown State University.
He worked over 42 years at Sherwin-Williams/US Can/Ball Corporation in Hubbard and recently retired before moving to Florida to live near his children and grandchildren who he loved so much.
He will be sadly missed by his family; his brother, Ken (Renee) Possert and sister, Kathy (Joseph) Sivulich, both of Hubbard, OH; his four children, Rich (Kristy) Possert Jr. of Jacksonville, FL; Devine (John) Sammon, of Tampa, FL, Nathan (Erin) Possert of Land O’ Lakes, FL, and Adam (Samantha) Possert of Tampa, FL. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren; Emma, Drew, Lily, Nataleigh, Mason, Reyanne; and step-granddaughter, Baylee “Alex” Raulerson, and a number of nephews and nieces and friends from all over the country.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret, and his father, Joseph, and an infant brother James.
Richard will be cremated after a small ceremony with his children in Tampa, Florida and will be interred alongside his mother and father at Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown, OH. A celebration of life ceremony will be held in his honor in his hometown of Hubbard, OH. Details of the date, time, and location of the ceremony are pending and will be available from his children soon.
