Raymond (Ray) Kenneth Walters, Sr., 76, passed away in his sleep on July 31, 2016 in Boothbay Harbor, ME. He was predeceased by his parents, Marjorie Viola (Vi) and Raymond Albert Walters. He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Bimmie Walters, son, Ken Walters, daughter, Mindy Socher (Bill), sister Judy Noriega and six grandchildren, Max, Sydney, William, Mallary, Megan and Grace, that fondly referred to him as “Big Daddy”. Ray was born in St. Louis, MO and moved to Tampa as a teenager where he graduated from Plant High School. He met Bimmie, the love of his life, at St. Pete Jr. College. Ray served in the U.S. Army 16th Specialist Battalion and was the owner of Florida Typewriter Exchange until his retirement. Ray’s loves were Bimmie’s cooking, living on the beach, his son, daughter, sister, six grandchildren and whatever dog was in his life at any given time. His passion was “the next great find” of antique jewelry, watches, and many other collectibles. Our world will not be as bright without him in it. A visitation will be held at Blount and Curry (605 S. MacDill Ave. Tampa, FL 33609) on August 8th at 6:30 pm.
