Phyllis grew up in Ohio. She attended Eastern Kentucky University, earning a B.A. in elementary education. She later obtained a Master’s degree in elementary education from Mississippi University for Women.
Phyllis was married to Wallace Frazier for 54 years. They served in the military for 21 years. They were stationed at various Air Force bases in Florida, Texas, Mississippi, and Illinois. During that time Phyllis worked as a Teacher and Librarian. She later worked as a Librarian for several years in The Lexington, Kentucky Public Library.
Phyllis is survived her loving husband Wallace, one daughter Jodi (Mark) Frazier Fleeman, two grandchildren, Liam Ballard and Meaghan Ballard; by two sisters and three brothers, Patricia Johns, Stella Burns, Linda Gross, George Carder, and Herschel Carder.
Phyllis enjoyed reading fiction books, going to the beach, spending Time with family and friends, especially her daughter Jodi and beloved grandchildren Liam and Meaghan. She loved Bible study, Christian music and University of Kentucky sports.
In place of Flowers, donations to ST. Judes Children’s Research Center would be greatly appreciated.
A visitation for Phyllis will be held Wednesday, May 22, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM with a Funeral Service to start at 4pm. Visitation and service to be held at Blount & Curry FH-Carrollwood, 3207 W Bearss Ave, Tampa, FL 33618.
