Olga S. Palermo, age 80, passed away peacefully at home in Miami, Florida with her family at her side on December 29. Olga was born on October 13, 1933 in Tampa, where she was a lifelong resident until she moved to Miami in 1989 to be with her son and grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking for friends and family and was an avid traveler. She was also actively involved in the St. John Neumann Catholic Church Ascending Life Ministry, the Senior L.I.F.T. Center, and the Day of Caring for Breast Cancer Awareness. Olga is survived by her son Nick N. Palermo, M.D., her daughter-in-law Maite Palermo, her three grandchildren Valerie, Nicholas, and Vincent Palermo, her nieces Eileen Hoffman, Sandra Charbonier, and Yvette Rizzo, her nephews Mario Charbonier and Elio Perez, and her sister-in-law Lillie Charbonier. She is preceded in death by her daughter Valerie S. Palermo, her husband Nick O. Palermo, parents Epifanio and Vicenta Sanchez, and her sister Estella Perez. Pallbearers are Nick Palermo, Nicholas Palermo, Vincent Palermo, Mario Charbonier, Elio Perez, and Scott Hoffman. A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2014 from 10AM to 1PM at Gonzalez Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 1PM at the funeral home with interment to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
