Marilyn Joan Powers (nee Freeman), 85, of Tampa, Florida, went to be with her lord and savior Jesus Christ on August 26, 2023. She was born on July 3, 1938, in Lynn, Massachusetts, to her loving parents.
Marilyn was a talented artist who had a passion for painting. She would spend hours immersed in her artwork, creating beautiful pieces that captured the essence of nature and life. Marilyn's paintings were a reflection of her vibrant spirit and love for creativity.
In addition to her artistic pursuits, Marilyn found solace and joy in the beach. She would often visit the sandy shores of Treasure Island, enjoying the sound of crashing waves and the warm sun on her face. The beach was a place of tranquility for Marilyn, where she could find peace and serenity.
Marilyn is survived by her children, Christopher Powers, Timothy (Marla) Powers, Beth Ann Laney, Joan (Daniel) Huff, and Dawn (Tracy) Clifton; daughter-in-law, Phyllis Powers. She was a cherished grandmother to 19 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, with two more on the way. Marilyn also leaves behind a great-great-granddaughter, and many loved ones. Her family was a source of immense pride and joy for her.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Raymond Powers Jr.; daughter Laura Lynn Powers; sons Michael Allen Powers, Patrick Raymond Powers; grandson, Tyler Powers; and her parents, sisters, and brothers.
Marilyn Joan Powers will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her. She will be remembered for her artistic talent, her love for the beach, and her unwavering devotion to her loved ones. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
A funeral service for Marilyn will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, September 2, 2023 at Blount & Curry Funeral Home at Garden of Memories, 4207 East Lake Avenue, Tampa, Florida. Interment to follow in Myrtle Hill Memorial Park, Tampa, Florida. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home.
