Marilyn G. Daniel, 89, of Tampa, Florida, passed away on 6/17/22 in Tampa, Florida. Marilyn was born in Chicago, ILL., to Richard & Josephine Grodja on 2/8/33. At 3 months old, her father, who was a motorcycle policeman, was killed in the line of duty. Josephine shortly there after, moved to Florida to be with her mother Jennie Minutoli, to help take care of Marilyn. This is where Josephine met her second husband Neil Goble, who adopted Marilyn and was the only father she ever knew. She attended St. Pete high school and FSU and joined the sorority Alpa Omicron Pi, after which she worked as a secretary for the president of TECO in Tampa for a few years. During this time, she met and married Wm. (Ray) Daniel Jr. in November of 1958 in Tampa. They had two children, Richard Daniel and Laurie Daniel Clauser. Marilyn then spent a number of years doing what she loved, being the best Mom ever. Once grown, she worked for awhile at Poe & Assoc., as Bill Poe's executive secretary. Always active, she was a member of Junior League, the 39'rs, Krewe of Venus, Ladies of the Crown, Palma Ceia Methodist church (choir and board member), Palma Ceia country club tennis league, Make A Wish board member, Harbor Island board member, ans various bridge groups, with her best friends and baby sister Jane Roberts. During her spare time, she enjoyed cooking, entertaining family and friends, and was a great cook/baker. She also loved sewing, crafts, piano and traveling.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband Ray, mother Josephine, and second father Neil.
Marilyn is survived by son Richard and Kathy Daniel, daughter Laurie and Steve Clauser, sister Jane Roberts, 4 wonderful grandchildren Heather, Hunter, Kurtis and Kirsten and one adorable Great-Grandchild Alexa.
Celebration of Life will be held a 4:30pm Friday July 1, 2022
