Maria Luisa Taylor Macias, 84, Tampa Cariñosamente “La Brujita” was born in Cuba, October 31, 1928. She went to her eternal rest with our Lord joining beloved son Juan Macias Jr and her dear mother Otilia Taylor Valdes. Ma was a very brave mother who arrived from Cuba in 1962 alone with her two small children Mari and Juany, pregnant with her third child Mercy. Having had to leave the love of her life behind (her husband Juan) to bring her children to freedom, Ma gave meaning to the words courage and loving mother by facing alone a strange country and language for her children. Bravely holding the family together until Juan came to join her.
Ma as the children called her is survived by her eternal love Juan Macias Sr, her husband of more than 66 years. Daughters: Maria Macias and Mercedes Chillura (husb Phillip); Grandsons: Octavio Ricky Valdes (wife Maria), Chris Chillura; Granddaughters: Katie Chillura, Ines Perez (husb Antonio), Suzana Perez (husb David); Sister: Mercedes Rodriguez; Brothers: Pedro Taylor & Julian Garcia; Daughter in Law: Ines Macias; 10 Great Grandchildren. Ma was immensely grateful to her great grandkids Miguel Valdes, Angelica Valdes, Aimee Valdes and granddaughter Katie Chillura for lovingly help take care of Pa while she was in the hospitals.
