Leonard LeRoy Hoover, 92, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 24 at his home in Tampa, FL. Born in Montour, IA., he was a veteran of WWII and lived most of his life in Rockford, IL where he thrived as a journeyman plumber. Leonard was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Katherine and their daughters, Sandra Staller and Teresa Barton. His second wife Shirley Bakke also passed away recently. He is survived by his son Dr. Dennis Hoover and his wife Angela, daughters Rebecca Johnson and Cynthia Abel, and many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Lenny was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to all. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
